About this app

Small moves. Great heights. Neon Ascent is a neon sliding-number adventure with sculpted 3D tiles, precise large scores and an original adaptive electronic soundtrack. Build bigger tiles on a 4×4 field and earn larger boards through slower, increasingly demanding milestones. Each expansion adds a row and column and retires the smallest tile tier. Merge to collect a capped bonus bag: Shuffle rearranges your tiles, Echo rethinks a move, and Revive can reopen three spots after Game Over. A blocked board ends the run; recovery always spends an earned bonus. Unused bonuses carry into new ascents. Includes celebrations, side quests, pause, camera zoom and pan, swipe and keyboard controls, reduced motion, fluid portrait and landscape layouts, local resume and signed-in Hackemist account saves.

Requirements

A modern browser with JavaScript, BigInt and CSS 3D transforms. Web Audio enables the optional original soundtrack. Works with touch, mouse or keyboard; no external account or service is required to play.

Credits

Original game implementation, neon visual design and procedural soundtrack created for pisty. Inspired by classic sliding-number merge puzzles. No third-party game code, music or assets.

Release notes

Strategy update: substantially slower board expansion; real Game Over when no moves remain; earned Revive, Shuffle and Echo bonuses with finite inventory caps; bonus banks persist into new ascents and Echo cannot farm rewards. Revive is offered only after Game Over and clears three small tiles while keeping the largest. Added a pause screen and Bonus Bag guide. Rebuilt fluid portrait/landscape layouts using Hackemist's responsive viewport contract and resize events, with the board, HUD and controls visible on small phones through wide desktops. Updated save migration, sound cues and keyboard focus handling.
